Washington, Mar 9: A Facebook video that has surfaced in Syria has mocked the U.S. promise of direct non-lethal aid to the country.
The announcement of a 60 million dollar aid package by US Secretary of State John Kerry, which would include food rations and medical supplies, was mocked by various spokesmen of the rebel coalition because of the non-availability of weapons in the aid, The Washington Post reports.
This fact was parodied in a funny manner in the clip, which shows a man seeming to fight an unseen combatant with a spray water bottle as the sound of bullets plays in the background, the report added.
The video, whose Arabic caption says ‘the arrival of the first batch of non-lethal weapons in Homs’, has been shared more than 700 times by Facebook users, who have left nearly 100 comments mocking the aid package.
Several factions of Syria’s opposition coalition have come out against the package in the past week, complaining that the aid is too less and has come too late, the report added. (ANI)
