London, Mar 13: A women football club from South Wales, Caerphilly Castle Ladies in on one of the worst run of form in the game, conceding 219 goals in 10 games while scoring just the once.
The Ladies were thrashed 43-0 this week, having already suffered 36-0, 28-0 and 26-0 defeats, the Daily Mirror reports.
The Ladies were hit by a walk-out of senior players last summer that set up rivals Cwmbran FC
Chairwoman Julie Boyce, who came out of retirement to help the Ladies, has termed the situation as tough and humiliating and feels that if such harassing score lines continue then it would threaten the club.
Boyce admitted that they would have been better off using schoolgirls in their team and the results would have been nowhere near as embarrassing as they have been if they had promoted some of the really talented girls from the under-16s into the first team.
Being optimistic about the long term she added that this crisis would not disrupt their excellent youth programme. (ANI)
