Washington, July 23: Multinational conglomerate company Samsung is reportedly going to host its very own Developer Conference so as to woo developers away from Apple.
According to the Fox News, it is expected that the debut Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) will take place from October 27-29 in San Francisco and it is speculated that the conference will not be solely focused on mobile but will be a ‘major, Samsung-wide, cross product (multi-screen) developer event’.
Rival company Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) has been hugely successful and now that Samsung is leading the Android phone and tablet sales, it indeed makes sense to hold its own developer event.
The report said that as Samsung will also be making a smart watch, the SDC could be an opportunity for the developers to learn how to create apps for the device which would be Apple’s iWatch competitor.
Samsung has been successful with its Android, however, many see Tizen, its homegrown operating system as a safety net should Google and Motorola get cozier with their relationship.
The report added that SDC will be a major step for Samsung to foster its own ecosystem and rely less on Google Play Store be it for smartphones, tablets, watches, TVs or refrigerators. (ANI)
