Washington, August 27: Naomi Watts has reportedly admitted that she turned down the role of Princess Diana twice before finally agreeing to play the late royal in the new biopic Diana, as she was worried about what Diana’s sons, William and Harry would think about the film.
According to Sunday Times, the 44-year old British-Australian actress revealed that she was “a little torn” and the main reason felt conflicted about playing the much-loved princess, who died in 1997, was because she deeply cared about what the princes would feel, People Magazine reported.
Watts added that she felt uncomfortable and got nervous when she saw Prince William in a restaurant in London.
The biopic, due out in October, chronicles the last two years of Diana’s life, including her alleged love affair with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat and rebound relationship with Dodi Al Fayed before her death in a car crash in Paris. (ANI)
