London, Aug 24: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that there will be no shortage of marquee signings for the club as long as they get to play in the Champions League.
According to the Mirror, Wenger has turned his attentions to Real Madrid duo Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria after missing out on a host of big names, including Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain, already this summer.
Bracing himself for a frantic final week of the transfer window, the Frenchman however, said that there are big names who are desperate to join his squad, including an even longer list of former Arsenal players, although he added that the condition for every players is that they each want a chance to play in the Champions League.
According to Wenger, the players want to come to Arsenal because they like the way people are treated at the club and the game they play, although he admitted that they have not always managed to play a similar quality of the game.
Arsenal are facing a major test to bounce back after their opening day defeat to Aston Villa and a gruelling midweek Champions League trip to Turkey to be on the ball in the lunchtime kick-off in the London derby at Fulham, the report added. (ANI)
