Melbourne, Sep 18: A woman in the central province of Henan, in China, has survived after been trapped in an abandoned well for 15 days.
Su Qixiu, who went missing while harvesting some corn in the field, was found in the well in the town of Zhongfeng, by a team of firefighters who were scouring the area after she disappeared, News.com.au reported.
The well, which was about a metre in diameter and four metres deep, was hidden in a cornfield and too slippery for the 38-year-old woman to climb out of it.
One of the rescuers said that that the woman had gone surprisingly thin, and was found with her face up with her eyes very much open.
Qixiu, who was not seriously injured, could neither move nor speak, but suddenly extended her hands to her rescuers.
The woman survived on the raw corn and on rain water in the well. (ANI)
