London, Sep 8: Police are currently investigating a break-in incident at the Buckingham Palace after a burglar was arrested from one of the 19 state rooms on suspicion of trespassing, burglary and criminal damage.
According to the Mirror, another man, who is suspected to be the intruder’s accomplice in the burglary, was also held in the street outside the royal residence.
Full background checks were being conducted by officials to rule out any connection to terrorism.
One source told the publication that the incident is being treated with the utmost seriousness and an investigation will set out to ensure that this never happens again.
Scotland Yard said that both men have been bailed to return to a Central London police station and enquiries continue.
The police force added that no members of the Royal Family were at royal residence at the time of the incident. (ANI)
