London, Sep 30: Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has said that he believes the club can bounce straight back from the shock defeat at Aston Villa on Saturday and is expecting a positive reaction.
According to Metro.co.uk, after underlining their title credentials with a magnificent 4-1 defeat of rivals Manchester United last week, City were confident of securing another three points at Villa Park.
For much of the first half it seemed that would be the case as City dominated but they twice surrendered a lead after the break and Villa snatched an unexpected 3-2 win, the report said.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini described the outcome as ‘unbelievable’ after the game and Kompany seemed similarly baffled, but is determined to ensure it is not repeated, the report added.
The influential leader said that the team felt confident they were going to win the game and Villa had just three chances, scoring three goals whereas City could have scored five or six.
He also said that the team had lost games before and every team in the world has lost games, adding that it was about the reaction and what one does in the next game.
He said that the team would now be motivated to make it right. (ANI)
