New Delhi, Sep 9: Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Sunday accused Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit of passing the buck to the Centre for the law and order problem in Delhi, and said that the latter doesn’t have any work to do except ‘cutting ribbons’.
“If there is a law and order problem, she (Dikshit) blames the Centre. She passes the buck up or down,” he said, while addressing a mega rally here.
“When girls are raped in Delhi, she portrays a very motherly image and then tells the girls to be home by early evening. Any mother, any family can tell their daughters to stay home. What is the CM doing? What is her responsibility?” he asked.
Modi alleged that the Delhi Government stops functioning instead of finding a solution to tackle the rampant corruption.
“Across the world, governments are the people’s strength. It’s only in Delhi that people are burdened by the deadweight of governments,” said Modi.
“Delhi government is like the drunkard who stopped buying newspapers after it carried reports on the evil consequences of drinking and his wife forced him to quit liquor,” he added.
Massive arrangements had been put in place for the Gujarat Chief Minister’s first rally in the national capital.
Also 3,000 policemen and paramilitary personnel have been deployed at the rally venue-Japanese Park, Rohini.
Special buses were arranged to bring in students and supporters from far-flung areas of Delhi. The Delhi Metro ran extra trains and feeder buses anticipating a huge rush. (ANI)
