Sydney, Oct 7: Veteran Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has reportedly ‘forgiven’ his teammate James Faulkner over the bowler’s mistimed high five that resulted in a nasty eye poke for Haddin and said that he would now opt for the ‘good old-fashioned bum slap’ next time.
Faulkner caught Haddin flush in the right eye in a mistimed high-five effort after getting rid of Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan in the first one-dayer in Pune, following which batsman Phillip Hughes took over the wicketkeeping duties.
According to News.com.au, the veteran gloveman seems to have finally forgiven, if not forgotten, his junior teammate, and he quipped that they would be reverting back to the old-fashioned handshake or a good old-fashioned ‘bum slap’ next time and would ‘stay away from the head’.
Haddin also said jokingly that he had not spoken to Faulkner for three days since the incident. (ANI)
