Washington, Oct : Iranians have reportedly launched a protest on Twitter, dubbed #jeans, against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks that Iran was ruled by a cult that bars them from wearing jeans.
One protester’s tweet read as: ‘Not only we wear jeans, but also listen to the foreign language music! I bet he thinks that we ride horses instead of cars!#jeans #Netanyahu’.
Netanyahu made a comment last week that majority of the Iranian people are actually pro-Western but they are governed not by Hassan Rouhani but by Ayatollah Khamenei who heads a cult that is wild in its ambitions and its aggression, the Christian Science Monitor reports.
Another Twitter user Favoud Ahmad called on people to wear jeans and join the protest, calling it a ‘#iranjeansday’, while others posted links to people getting arrested and beaten up as a result of the protests. (ANI)
