London, Oct 9: Manchester United boss David Moyes has said that the club’s rising star Adnan Januzaj is at the same level striker Wayne Rooney was at when the striker broke through under him at Everton 11 years ago, but sounded a note of caution against expecting too much, too soon.
According to the Mirror, Januzaj’s two-goal match-winning heroics for the champion team in their 2-1 win at Sunderland catapulted the 18-year-old attacking midfielder to the world’s attention.
Moyes said Januzaj would not be fazed by his sudden high profile and fall by the wayside, like other promising young players in the past have done.
The Scot said that the player is someone who has no problem playing for the reserves and he has no real ego to him, adding that he is a really humble boy who was really well looked after by his dad and his family.
Elsewhere, Moyes confirmed Marouane Fellaini requires wrist surgery that will put him out of action for four to six weeks, but said the operation will be delayed, possibly until after next year’s World Cup, the report said. (ANI)
