Johannesburg, Nov 5: Najam Sethi will reportedly stay on as the chairperson of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) until the next hearing of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Sethi was suspended last week by an IHC judge, who also dissolved PCB’s Interim Management Committee, which was chaired by Sethi, and ordered fresh elections for the chairperson’s post by the third week of November.
According to Sport24, the judge had also asked the PCB to release 2.5 million rupees for organising the new election.
However, PCB’s legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi said that a two-member appellate bench issued the ‘status quo’ reinstating Sethi in his PCB seat, and also asked the board not to pay the money asked for the election. (ANI)
