UNSC expresses outrage over bomb attack in Mogadishu

United Nations, Nov 10: UN Security Council Saturday voiced its outrage against the car bomb attack on a hotel in the Somalian capital city of Mogadishu, which left at least five people dead Friday.

“The members of the Security Council are outraged by yesterday’ s bomb attack in Mogadishu, for which Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility, and which has caused numerous deaths and injuries,” reported Xinhua citing UNSC in press statement issued here.

A car bomb explosion hit the vicinity of Makka Hotel, in Mogadishu, Friday evening, causing over 30 casualties along the main street in the heart of the capital city of Somalia.

The Islamist Al-Shabaab group claimed responsibility for the attack on the hotel which is frequented by government officials and Somalis from the diaspora.
