Sydney, Dec 9: One of the heads of England’s fan squad the Barmy Army has conceded defeat to Australia in the Ashes series, according to reports.
According to News.com.au, in Alice Springs last week for the Chairman’s XI match in Traeger Park, co-founder Dave Peacock predicted if he was a betting man, the odds were in Australia’s favour.
Australia has also beaten England in the Adelaide Test by 218 runs to take a 2-0 Ashes series lead.
15,000 English fans are expected to descend Down Under during the Ashes series and they are expected bring in revenue of up to 300 million dollars in tourism dollars for the economy, that’s double the amount earned from the Lions rugby tour, the report said.
Peacock said that they were just privileged to be in Australia, at any Test ground. (ANI)
