New ‘wink glasses’ come as sigh of relief for dry eyes sufferers

Washington, Dec. 12: Japanese optical company has created the perfect solution for dry eyes – ‘wink glasses’ – that force computer users to blink at regular intervals to keep eyes moist.

According to CNET, the glasses developed by Masunaga Optical fog up for 0.1 or 0.2 second every 10 seconds and the momentary opaqueness causes wearers to blink, moisturizing their eyes.

Even though the glasses look normal, they weigh slightly more than regular frames and have a small battery in the left temple piece that’s connected to the lenses, which are covered with liquid crystal sheets.

The fogging mode is activated by a small button on the right temple piece and the spectacles sell for 150 dollars in Japan and can be fitted with prescription lenses for an extra charge. (ANI)
