New Delhi, Jan 10: A 13-year-old girl, who had left her home without telling anyone and was wandering around, was gang raped by three auto-rickshaw drivers, police said Friday. All the three have been arrested.
The incident, which occurred in Nand Nagri area of east Delhi Wednesday night, came to light Thursday morning when the girl managed to approach police and informed them about her ordeal, a police officer said.
On the victim’s statement and a medical report confirming rape, police swung into action and arrested the accused – Rehan, 22, Sonu, 23, and Saleem, 24 – from their different hideouts in east Delhi by Thursday night.
Police said the victim had left her east Delhi’s Harsh Vihar home Jan 7 without informing her family members and reached Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) hospital.
“She was wandering near GTB hospital after leaving her house. She reached the Bhopura border in east Delhi where the auto-rickshaw drivers found her alone. They took her to a secluded place and raped her,” said the officer.
The accused fled from the spot after raping the girl, added the officer.
