BJP accuses Congress of talking of communalism as it has no answer to problems facing nation

New Delhi, Jan. 30: Reacting to Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s speech, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday said that the Congress perpetually talked about segmentation and division as the Congress had no answer to the rest of the issues prevailing in the nation.

“Both the Hindus and Muslims of the country want a relief from inflation, corruption, unemployment and lack of development, and the next elections will be contested on the same aspects but because she does not have the answer these questions, she talks about the separation.,” said Ravi Shankar Prasad.

“People will give an answer against the bad governance of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi’s government. They are watching everything,” he said.

“She perpetually raises the issue of communalism but I would like to tell her that the people in Gujarat are happy, irrespective of their religions as development is there,” he added.

On Thursday, before laying the foundation stone Aligarh Muslim University’s (AMU) Centre in the Kishanganj district, Gandhi said that the nation was going through a sensitive stage where the ongoing fight was between the believers of secularism and development, and communalism and backwardness.

“When a state progresses so does the nation but, today we are going through a sensitive period in which we need to decide whether we will broaden our outlook, and move towards development, or follow the old narrow ideologies,” said Gandhi.

“It is contest between secularism which is one of the most crucial aspects in laying the foundation of our nation, and communalism which leads to backwardness,” she said.

“A nation can only progress when people of every caste, class or religion works together in unity but, there are powers today that are trying to derail Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology, and we must fight them,” she added. (ANI)
