Canadian player hallucinated Snoopy dog image before blacking out at Australian Open

Johannesburg, Jan 17: Canadian tennis player Frank Dancevic has reportedly claimed that he hallucinated a vision of cartoon dog Snoopy before fainting during the extreme heat conditions at the ongoing Australian Open tournament in Melbourne.

Extreme heat forced organisers to suspend play for several hours at the tournament on Thursday following days of complaints about ‘inhumane’ conditions, which left some players fainting and vomiting.

According to Sport24, Dancevic said that he had hallucinated a vision of Snoopy before blacking out, while China’s Peng Shuai vomited and cramped up during her loss to Kurumi Nara.

Croatia’s Ivan Dodig said that he was afraid he was about to die after suffering severe cramps and retiring after four sets of his match against Damir Dzumhur and the report mentioned that America’s Varvara Lepchenko had her pulse and blood-pressure checked and was rubbed down with ice by staff during a medical time-out.
