London, Jan 6: Chelsea and Liverpool played stronger lineups and advanced to the next round of the FA Cup by not committing the mistakes the of fielding wakened sides as done by Manchester United and West Ham .
Chelsea beat in-form Championship side Derby County 2-0, with Liverpool avenging their defeat by third-tier Oldham Athletic in last season’s competition with a 2-0 victory.
Derby have won 10 of their 15 league games since former England manager Steve McClaren took over, but Second-half goals by John Obi Mikel and Oscar earned Chelsea a 2-0 victory, SPort24 reports.
Liverpool will visit either Bournemouth or Burton Albion in round four after beating Oldham.
The game also saw Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers go up against his own son, Anton, who plays for Oldham and came on as a second-half substitute.(ANI)
