Tehran, Jan 29: Iranian government said Tuesday that it seeks to enhance its
cooperation with South Korea in scientific and technological sectors.
The scientific and technological department of Iran’s presidential office is trying to develop ties with South Korea, Xinhua quoted Iranian vice president Sourena Sattari as saying during a meeting with visiting South Korean National Assembly speaker Kang Chang-hee Tuesday.
The department wants to increase communication between industries and universities and bring technology to public life, Sattari said, adding that it would welcome South Korean companies’ participation in the Islamic republic’s technology projects.
Kang, meanwhile, said that Iran enjoys a good scientific basis.
The South Korean official urged for more bilateral meetings in a bid to promote mutual cooperation.
The high-ranking parliamentary delegation headed by Kang arrived in Tehran Sunday for a three- day visit.
