London, Jan 30: Manchester City has moved to the top of the Premier League following a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday away at White Hart Lane.
The only black mark for the City was that Sergio Aguero sustained a hamstring injury just before half-time and is now a doubt for Monday’s crucial meeting with Chelsea at the Etihad.
According to the BBC, Aguero scored in an eighth successive game to give the visitors an early lead, following which Yaya Toure doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half from a hotly-contested penalty after Spurs defender Danny Rose was sent off for fouling Edin Dzeko.
Dzeko then added a third and, even though Etienne Capoue pulled one back for Spurs, City substitute Stevan Jovetic scored his first league goal since his 22 million-pound summer switch from Fiorentina, with captain Vincent Kompany rounding things off with a simple finish, the report added. (ANI)
