Washington, Feb. 06: BlackBerry has reportedly launched a tool that would allow BBM users to find new friends from their contact list and help the sinking smartphone company gain something from its last remaining options.
The tool would scan a user’s contact list to identify those who are on its BBM service and allow the user to quickly send a PIN invite to them or invite through SMS.
According to Tech Crunch, BlackBerry has claimed that users had long asked for such a feature, however, it is also seen as one of the company’s attempt at regaining its market share.
BlackBerry recently rolled out its messaging service BBM to third-party devices, on Android and iOS, and the once-popular service immediately saw notable gains.
The report said that BlackBerry is also expected to soon roll out an updated BBM v2.0. (ANI)
