Bodh Gaya (Bihar), Feb.6: On the second day of the cultural festival in the temple town Bodh Gaya in Bihar on Thursday, artists from India and other countries mesmerised the audience with their spellbinding performances.
The Bodh Mahotsav is an annual international event that is organised jointly by the tourism department and the Bihar Government.
The three-day event that started on February 5, has artists and troupes not only from India, but also from countries like Thailand, Vietnam and Bhutan participating at the land of Buddha’s enlightenment.
People dressed in bright and colourful attire enthralled the audience with their dance and musical performances at the Kalachakra grounds where Bodh Mahotsav 2014 is being held.
A musician, who has been performing every year at the festival, Rajan Cijuar, said it provides a great platform to the people of Gaya District.
“This is a very good platform for the people of Gaya. Earlier there was no such cultural programme organised on such a large scale. It started in 1998. Since then I have been performing in this cultural event. Artists from India as well as international artists get to participate in the event,” said Rajan.
Bihar has been celebrating Bodh Mahotsav on a large scale since 1998.The festival also helps in providing a boost to the tourism in the state, as efforts are made to present the cultural festival at par with international events.(ANI)
