Johannesburg, Feb 23: Chelsea captain John Terry has helped his side maintain their top place at the Premier League with his late goal which sunk Everton 1-0 on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
The victory has sent Chelsea four points clear at the Premier League summit until next weekend at least.
According to Sport24, Jose Mourinho’s side looked destined to drop vital points until Terry marked his return to the team after a three-game absence by toeing Frank Lampard’s free-kick past visiting goalkeeper Tim Howard in stoppage time.
However, despite losing January signing Lacina Traore to injury in the warm-up, Everton made a confident start in the game and kept the ball from Chelsea for long periods of the first half, the report added. (ANI)
