Dalai Lama to speak at Nobel Peace Prize Forum

Dharamsala, Feb 17: Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, will deliver a talk at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum in the US next month, an official said here Monday.

“His Holiness will give a talk at the 26th annual Nobel Peace Prize Forum in Minneapolis. The event is being organised by the Nobel Peace Prize Forum and Augsburg College,” a spokesperson for the Dalai Lama told IANS.

He said the Dalai Lama, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989, would participate in the Tibetan New Year ceremony, organised by the Tibetan American Foundation, in Minnesota March 2.

The Dalai Lama, along with many of his supporters, fled Tibet and took refuge in India when Chinese troops moved in and took control of capital Lhasa in 1959.

The Central Tibetan Administration is headquartered in Dharamsala.

India is home to about 100,000 Tibetans.
