London, Feb 13: Liverpool has moved to within four points of the Premier League summit following a dramatic 3-2 win over Fulham on Wednesday away at Craven Cottage.
The victory is Liverpool’s fifth league win of the calendar year and ensures they remain in the mix for the title after an unbeaten start to 2014.
According to the BBC, bottom-of-the-table Fulham took a surprise lead after Kolo Toure’s own goal eight minutes into the game, although Daniel Sturridge levelled for Liverpool 33 minutes later.
The hosts took up the lead again when Kieran Richardson took advantage of poor defending by Martin Skrtel.
But the report mentioned that Philippe Coutinho equalised from 20 yards before Steven Gerrard’s penalty in the last minute, which was awarded after Sascha Riether’s clumsy stoppage-time challenge on Sturridge. (ANI)
