Rio de Janeiro, Feb 7: Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a move for Gremio midfielder Ramiro.
But Red Devils officials have been told they face a buyout fee of 12 million euros for the 20-year-old’s signature, Xinhua quoted Brazilian news portal Terra as saying.
Ramiro has also been linked with a move to Italian Serie A clubs Lazio, Roma, Parma and Torino.
“There have been clubs that have shown interest but there has been nothing official,” Ramiro’s father and agent Gilnei Benetti said Thursday.
Manchester United coach David Moyes is said to be keen to further boost his midfield stocks next season after the January signing of Spanish playmaker Juan Mata from Chelsea.
Ramiro made 29 league starts as a holding midfielder for Gremio last season, helping the club finish second in the league standings.
