Islamabad, Feb 14: A team that went to bring back two senior Pakistani officials, who were kidnapped Thursday from Tump town in Balochistan province, was also abducted Friday.
The team was headed by Assistant Commissioner Dasht Naeem Ghichki and comprised five police personnel. They were kidnapped from Gomazai city in the province and taken to a nearby mountain.
The banned Baloch Liberation Front had claimed responsibility for the first incident of kidnapping, reported Dawn online.
On Thursday, the deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner of Kechh district were returning after a meeting with Iranian border officials when they were intercepted by dozens of armed men.
The gunmen overpowered at least 18 security personnel accompanying the two officials and ordered the convoy to follow them.
The gunmen later allowed the security personnel to go and took away the deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner with them.
