London, Feb. 16: An Indian charity which helps Third World countries cope with natural disasters has diverted aid to help families in flood-hit Britain.
Sikh charity Khalsa Aid delivered sand bags to help protect homes, with companies donating forklift trucks and lorries to transport them.
According to express.co.uk, Khalsa Aid delivered 414 tons of sand and thousands of bags to flood-hit communities in Wraysbury, Datchet and Colnbrook in Berkshire, and Chertsey, Staines, Egham, Sunbury and Ashford in Surrey.
Another 70 tons of sand and supplies of antiseptic fluid and dry suits were given to residents in Burrowbridge on the Somerset Levels, the report added. (ANI)
