Ukranian president, opposition agree truce

Kiev, Feb 20: Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych agreed a truce with opposition leaders Thursday, following 26 people’s deaths in clashes witnessed this week, BBC reported.

In a statement, the president said “negotiations” would now start to end last two days’ bloodshed.

Arseniy Yatsenyk, an opposition leader, confirmed this, saying there would be no new police attempts to storm the main protest site, the Maidan, in Kiev.
