Antony’s exit as Defence Minister sought by BJP

New Delhi, March 9,: Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has criticized the government for the mishaps occurring unabated in its naval arm of the defence forces. BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi wanted the Defence Minister A K Antony to take responsiblity for the accidents and resign.

” The way these series of accidents are taking place uninterruptedly, it definitely calls for the government to hold itself responsible for such incidents. We had earlier also sought for defence minister’s dismissal but he still stood on his chair even after recurrent mishaps in the navy. The time has come that he (Antony) tenders his resignation as these incidents have occurred under his stewardship.” Trivedi said.

One worker was killed and three others seriously injured in an accident at the Ship Building Center on the premises of the Eastern Naval Command on Saturday, where indigenous nuclear submarine INS Arihant was built, and its follow -on nuclear submarines are being built. This is the third accident involving the Indian Navy in the last two weeks. (ANI)
