Bhiwandi, (Maharashtra), Mar. 6: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that wherever the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) went they created fights between people of different religion, castes and states and that they never spoke about the weak or the poor.
“Wherever the opposition goes, they create a fight between people. Be it between Hindu-Muslims, between people of different caste, class or state,” said Gandhi.
“They never talk about the poor, or the weak, but when the Congress talks about MNREGA, they say that money is being wasted. But if the same money is given to a rich man, the money is not wasted but contributes in the progress of India,” he said.
“We are not saying that there should be no economic development, we are just saying that everyone should get an equal share. Tell me the name of one single programme where the Congress has not been inclusive,” he added.
He further said that the people of party took the credit of the Congress’s hard work.
“When former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and the youth of the Congress spoke about bringing computers to India, the senior most leader of the opposition had said that India did not need computers, and that computers would snatch away jobs from the people of the country,” said Gandhi.
“And after so many years they say that they were the ones to introduce computers and telephones in India,” he added. (ANI)
