Ellen DeGeneres pokes fun at Oscar nominees in opening monologue

Washington, March 5: Ellen DeGeneres, who is hosting the 86th Annual Academy Awards, made fun of many Oscar nominees, including Jennifer Lawrence and veteran actor Bruce Dern, in her opening monologue.

While talking to Lawrence, who had fallen at the 2013 Oscars while going on stage to accept her best actress trophy for ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, the comedian said that if the latter wins the best supporting actress for ‘American Hustle’, the award should be brought to her, People Magazine reported.

DeGeneres told veteran actress Liza Minnelli that she was the best impersonator of herself and called her sir.

After talking about Dern’s lineage, where his grandfather was governor of Utah, great-uncle a renowned poet, DeGeneres asked what went wrong with his godmother Eleanor Roosevelt.

DeGeneres also said in her monologue that there are so many different possibilities with no. 1 being ’12 Years a Slave’ winning Best Picture and no. 2 possibility is that all of them were racist. (ANI)
