Man City boss Pellegrini targets ‘quadruple’ following Capital One Cup glory

London, Mar. 03: Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly targeted a clean sweep of four trophies in his debut season after his club made a come-from behind win over Sunderland at Wembley.

Pellegrini picked up his first trophy in England following City’s Capital One Cup glory and bagging the first leg of what could reportedly be an unprecedented Quadruple this season.

According to the Mirror, Pellegrini has set his sights on a clean sweep of four trophies this season saying that they are the only ‘club’ that still has ‘got the chance’ to continue trying to ‘win all the competitions’.

Pellegrini also said that they know it is not easy but they are going to try to win everything in their sights this season, the report added.

Pellegrini further added that for a club like City failing was not good and having won one trophy they would continue to try to win as no one can ever be ‘satisfied with one trophy’

City won over Sunderland with strikes from Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and a late third from substitute Jesus Navas and lifted their first trophy of Pellegrini’s reign, the report added.

City have reportedly set an aim to become the first English team to wean the domestic Treble of the League, FA Cup and League Cup, as they also try to overturn a 2-0 defeat at Barcelona in the Champions League. (ANI)
