Muzzafarpur, March. 3: Taking a dig at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Monday there is no space for hypocrisy in public life, and added that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will keep on expanding.
Addressing a rally here, the Gujarat Chief Minister said, “When I visited Patna on Oct er 27, 2013 and I was very honoured by the welcome I received from the people of Bihar. But at the same time, there were serial blast in Patna. The damage from those blasts was inflicted on the whole country. It was an assault on the unity of India.”
“But the people of Bihar are determined. Even after such a big incident, the people of the state demonstrated unity, peace and brotherhood,” he added.
Welcoming the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) back into the NDA, Modi said, “The NDA is expanding. When I say NDA, I can see two faces of the alliance -one is National Democratic Alliance and the other is National Development Alliance. I welcome Ram Vilas Paswan and Chirag Paswan into our family. The alliance will keep expanding, and so will the problems for others.”
“Ram Vilas Paswan had walked out of the NDA. But wherever and whenever he would meet us then it was always a cordial exchange. He was never afraid when newspapers published his photographs along with us the next day,” he said.
He further added, “There are some leaders who will be cordial behind closed doors but are very uncomfortable in public.”
He asserted that for other parties secularism is religion first but for the BJP it is India first.
“I say stop price rise, they say stop Modi. I say stop corruption, they says stop Modi. For them secularism is appeasement for all, justice for none. For us it is justice for all, appeasement for none,” he added.
He also took a dig at the Third Front, saying, “What is this Third Front? Most of them have supported the Congress. They work for the Congress either because of their greed or they are afraid of the CBI. (ANI)
