Melbourne, Mar. 03: Captain Stuart Broad and Ravi Bopara’s unbroken eighth-wicket partnership of 58 reportedly saved England from another embarrassing collapse as their team came to a series-levelling three-wicket win over West Indies in the second ODI.
West Indies reportedly lost their last six wickets for 26 runs following Dwayne Bravo’s controversial dismissal with the team at 159 off 44.2 overs.
According to News.com.au, England, having lost six times in their last seven ODIs, seemed to have lost another opportunity to win as they were reduced to 7-105 in the 32 nd over.
Although, West Indies thought that they had dismissed Broad immediately upon his arrival with a catch out at the crease but the umpire’s on-field decision was reversed on television review and Broad then joined Bopara to take England to a win, the report added.
Broad said that they had made it really hard for themselves but Bopara performed as was expected of him at number seven, the report mentioned. (ANI)
