Booze charity blasts Becks for promoting new whisky by Diageo

London, April 9: David Beckham has been slammed by an alcohol charity for teaming up with Diageo to promote new whiskey with manager Simon Fuller.

According to Daily Star, Emily Robinson from Alcohol Concern has said that it’s extremely disappointing that the 38-year-old former footie ace, who has wide appeal to children, has chosen to promote spirits.

The charity believes that the act will send mixed messages about the dangers of alcohol and its impact on lifestyle to the young population, and Beckham, who usually promotes a healthy lifestyle, should rethink his association with the product.

Meanwhile, the father-of-four, who launched Diageo’s Haig Club, said that he feels proud to be working at the heart of a home-grown brand which has built an incredible heritage over 400 years. (ANI)
