‘Captain America’ tops box office charts for third week with $26.6 m earnings

London, April 21: ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ retained it’s numero uno position at the box office for third successive week, adding another 26 million dollars to its accounts, according to reports.

According to Fox News, the Chris Evan starrer Disney Marvel film set a box-office record as the biggest April release ever when it opened with more than 96 million dollars domestically, and has now overshadowed the release of Christopher Nolan directed Johnny Depp starrer ‘Transcendence’ which ranked fourth, Fox News reported.

The top box office grossers are:

1. ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ – 26.6 million dollars

2. ‘Rio 2′ – 22.5 million dollars

3. ‘Heaven is for Real’ – 21.5 million dollars

4. ‘Transcendence’ – 11.2 million dollars

5. ‘A Haunted House 2′ – 9.1 million dollars

6. ‘Draft Day’ – 5.9 million dollars

7. ‘Divergent’ – 5.75 million dollars

8. ‘Oculus’ – 5.2 million dollars

9. ‘Noah’ – 5 million dollars
