Manmohan never had any powers: Ramdev

Mumbai, Apr.20: Yoga guru Ramdev, who has been spearheading a national campaign against black money, on Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh never had any power in his hands, and added that the country was being run by Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Ramdev said that Singh was the Prime Minister only for namesake.

“Be it Bofors scam, 2G scam, Commonwealth Games scam, Adarsh Society scam or coal scam, everything has happened under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi. Prime minister is just a pawn. He was made the Prime Minister for namesake. Supreme PMs of India are Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi and they are running the country,” said Ramdev.

Ramdev has been touring India to garner votes for the BJP, after the party accepted his proposal to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks if voted to power.

Further, Ramdev advocated for a corruption-free India which could be achieved through legal, technological and social measures.

“It is not just Modi wave in the country, rather it’s Modi’s storm in which big trees will fall. It seems that after elections, Sonia Gandhi will run away from the country. It is likely that Sonia Gandhi will be found in her paternal home after the elections,” said Ramdev. (ANI)
