Congress says people relieved of Modi’s speeches

New Delhi, May 11: The Congress party on Sunday said that people have now been relieved of speeches of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi, after the campaigning for parliamentary polls ended on Saturday.

Congress spokesperson, Meem Afzal, hoped that Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government would be voted to power once again.

“The country has been relieved of Modi’s speeches and discourses after so many months. Our ears will be free from echo of his speeches. Meanwhile, people’s verdict will come out. A new government will be formed. We hope that it would be the UPA government,” he said in New Delhi.

Janata Dal-United (JD-U) called Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) untouchable.

“All the parties have made their position clear that they will not align with untouchable BJP. The BJP, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, is live wire and anyone who touches it will be burnt,” said JD-U spokesperson, K. C. Tyagi. (ANI)
