London, May 4: Fulham has been relegated from the Premier League after a 13-year stay at the top-flight following a heavy 4-1 defeat by Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.
With Sunderland’s victory at Manchester United sealing the fate of Felix Magath’s team, the side needed a win to keep alive their hopes of survival, while Stoke enjoyed their tenth home league win of the season, a record only bettered by the top five.
According to the BBC, striker Peter Odemwingie tapped in Stoke’s first, before Marko Arnautovic and Oussama Assaidi made it 3-0 after the break and although Kieran Richardson scored for Fulham late in the second half, Jon Walters sealed victory just two minutes after Richardson’s goal.
Meanwhile, the report mentioned that Magath, who replaced Rene Meulensteen with 12 games remaining, insisted after the match he wants to remain at Craven Cottage – and his rebuilding task will begin after next week’s game against Crystal Palace. (ANI)
