Modi holds Rawat equally responsible for poor management of Uttarakhand floods

Roorkee, May 3: Training his gun at Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Saturday said the former is equally responsible as the then state government for the poor management of the natural disaster which struck Uttarakhand last year.

“He (Rawat) is answerable to people as he was the Water Resource Minister in the UPA Government when the state was ravaged by floods. He is also responsible for poor flood management” said Modi while addressing a rally here.

He said that it is unfortunate that there is a government of ‘Mother-Son’ duo in Delhi while in Uttarakhand there is a government of ‘Husband-Wife’.

“This dynastic politics is an enemy of democracy. If you want to change the future of your state, then you have to reject such politics,” he said.

Modi also said that the voting which took place till now has proved that the government of ‘Mother-Son’ duo has been voted out of power, and added that no other party can save this government.

“The bowl of sin has been filled. The people are not going to tolerate this government further,” he added.

“If a vehicle breaks down and is stuck in a pit, then it can be moved with a push. If a nation as large as ours is stuck in a deep pit, then it needs everyone’s help to get out. Therefore we need a strong government,” he added. (ANI)
