London, May 08: Manchester City right-back Pablo Zabaleta has said that the club has taken a ‘massive step’ near to the Premier League glory with their 4-0 win over Aston Villa.
After one goalless hour into the match, City completed a century of their Premier League goals this season in their clash against Aston Villa as Edin Dzeko scored two goals and Stevan Jovetic and Yaya Toure scored a late goal each to take their club to move within a point of the title.
According to the Mirror, Zabaleta said that the clash had been very difficult because if one does not score early, it becomes hard sometimes but the key is that City worked hard, found space and stayed patient.
The defender said that it had been a very solid performance, and although nothing has been won yet, he added that it had been very important for them to win their clash against Aston.
Zabaleta said that it is a ‘massive step’ forward, but there is still one game left to play against West Ham United, who have got nothing to play for but have some very good players and can score goals.
City’s 4-0 win over Aston Villa means that they only need a point at home against West Ham United on the final day of the season to be crowned as the Premier League champions, the report added. (ANI)
