Johannesburg, May 4: Eleven terrorists with links to al-Qaeda are reportedly being interrogated in connection with the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
An official said that Malaysian police arrested the 11 suspects in an operation to break up Islamic terror groups posing as humanitarian organisations, News.com.au reports.
The FBI and MI6 have asked for the militants to be quizzed about the disappearance of Flight MH370.
A Home Ministry official said that ten Malaysians were earlier arrested in the week during raids in and around the capital Kuala Lumpur and the northern state of Kedah before a man attempting to flee the country was detained on Thursday, while the 11th suspect was detained yesterday.
Home Minister Zahid Hamidi reportedly said that the biggest worry is organisations using humanitarian missions as the basis to train militants, adding that these groups claimed to be on a jihad (holy war).
The Malaysian police have said that they are also probing terrorism as one possible reason for the March 8 disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, the report adds. (ANI)
