R S Pura, July 26: Eight live bombs were recovered from the R.S. Pura area in Jammu and Kashmir.
The explosives were old and recovered after villagers in the area found them and informed the bomb squad.
Security personnel of the Army’s Bomb Disposal Squad, along with the police and paramilitary, Border Security Force (BSF), reached the spot to defuse the bombs.
People living at the border areas have been suffering huge losses because of the exchange of fire between India and Pakistan as their livestock and houses have also been damaged.
“We appeal to the police that from now on they should pay more attention to this place and should recover such bombs immediately and be defused by bomb squads. People are trying to be strong. The incident has scared each and every child here,” said a resident, Raj Kumar.
The army has beefed up the vigil in the area to prevent militants infiltrating into Indian Territory by taking cover of shelling. (ANI)
