Suspected militant reported killed in Pakistan’s Bannu District

Peshawar, July 26: A suspected militant was reportedly been gunned down by security forces in the Jannikhel area of Pakistan’s Bannu District on Saturday.

The Dawn quoted official sources, as saying that security forces were attacked while conducting a search operation in Frontier Region in Jannikhel.

Security personnel subsequently responded to the assault with retaliatory firing. The sources said one militant was killed in the gun battle that took place between the two sides whereas another, who was identified as Waliullah, was arrested.

Sources said the arrested suspect was wanted by law enforcement agencies in various cases of terrorism. The militant killed in the encounter was identified as Matiullah.

Bannu is located 150 kilometers southwest of Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. (ANI)
