Modernize ferries in Assam: MP
New Delhi, May 2: Two days after a boat disaster in Assam killed an estimated 270 people, Rajya Sabha member Birendra Prasad Baishya Wednesday sought New Delhi’s assistance to modernize ferries in the state.
Search resumes for Assam ferry tragedy victims
Guwahati, May 2: While the district administration Wednesday resumed the search operation with the help of Border Security Force (BSF) and National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) personnel for the victims of Monday’s ferry tragedy, the state government has sought help from the Bangladesh government for recovery of the dead bodies, an official said.
